The One Bangkok Sunsational Songkran Festival encouraged visitors to immerse themselves in the rhythm of life, expressed through three core themes: Movement, symbolising the vibrant flow of water and diverse flora; Floral Expressions, representing the sustainable growth of our ecosystem and natural beauty; and Vibrant Energy, the luminous power that connects people through a curated selection of activities.

Refreshing Highlights and Activities Spanning Six Full Days:

The Sunsational Paradise at One Bangkok Park – A sprawling, vibrant water park designed for every family member to create unforgettable memories. The event featured several zones, including:

• Installation: A magnificent installation of oversized, luminous flowers, enhanced by lighting that synchronised with the rhythm of water, a definitive festival highlight.
• The Summer Rain Tunnel: A mist tunnel nestled amidst lush greenery, designed to interact with human movement, offering perfect refreshment without getting drenched and serving as an unmissable photo opportunity.
• The Whimsical Water Park: A city-centre water playground, featuring “Little Bloom” for toddlers and “Sunshine Wave” for children up to 12 years old. All areas were managed under strict water quality and safety controls, with convenient showers and changing facilities provided.
• Sunset Grove: A tranquil poolside area, offering comfortable sun loungers and remote-controlled boats for playful enjoyment in the pool.
• Sunset Social Club: A chic and vibrant lounge zone, providing a stylish party atmosphere complete with refreshing beverages and delectable snacks.
• Summer Sound Stage – Everyone was immersed in spectacular concerts featuring numerous celebrated artists on stage throughout the six days

Engage in Art, Culture, and Creative Workshops at The Storeys Square:

• Summer Craft Studios: A vibrant hub of creativity, featuring a performance stage, a photobooth where guests were able to design mini CD album cover keychains using their photos, and a series of exciting workshops such as crafting vibrant paper flower bouquets, personalising favourite inhaler bottles with charming stickers and adornments, or painting bright, imaginative fans. Additionally, everyone could capture lasting memories dressed in traditional Thai costumes at the Vintage Photo Studio by Chaya Nitikorn.
• Visitors enjoyed live performances from “Troops” in enchanting floral costumes and live music from famous artists.
• Guests also discovered the “Floral Blessing Garden”, a serene spot for traditional Buddha bathing, intended to bring good fortune, was available at the Activation Zone, G Floor, The Storeys, throughout the festival.

The opening ceremony on 11 April was attended by Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, alongside senior representatives from the public and private sectors.

Opening night features the Maha Songkran World Event parade at 18:30 Hrs. on the main stage, spotlighting this year’s Songkran deity, Nang Raksasdevi, portrayed by Opal Suchata Chuangsri, Miss World 2025.

The “Songkran 5 Regions” zone (from 11:00 to 22:00 Hrs. daily) presents Thailand’s regional diversity through traditional performances, local product showcases, activities and temple fair experiences, including sand pagoda building and Buddha image bathing. Dedicated areas for the elderly and children ensure accessibility for all ages, with over 100 stalls offering Thai food and products.

Leading Thai artists perform on the main stage (from 17:00 to 22:00 Hrs.), including Fool Step, Zani, Zeal, Kratae, Asia7, The Mousses, Lham Somphol, Ink Waruntorn, Monica, Playground, Palmy, Maiyarap, Clockwork Motionless, 4EVE, Bodyslam, Taitosmith, MEYOU, Getsunova, Tilly Birds and Joey Boy, alongside cultural and contemporary showcases.

Meanwhile, DJs will shake the water play zone and EDM stage (from 16:00 to 22:00 Hrs.) with performances by 4 TEN, Nuttrix, Joy Lila, Jay Schema, Gail Werner, Spacemonkey, 22Bullets, Patcha, Hanky, Dome, Hugo, Brynna, Roxy June, Max, Xillix and Notxerius.

Each evening concludes with a drone light display featuring more than 1,200 drones.

Safety and security are top priorities, supported by seamless teamwork among public agencies, including the Tourist Police Bureau, and event partners to ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for all. Attendees benefit from boosted on-site support, smart traffic flow, dedicated crowd guidance, helpful visitor hubs and round-the-clock assistance throughout the venue.

Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2026 takes place from 11 to 15 April at Benchakitti Park, Bangkok. Admission is free. The “CP Splash to Space” event, running from 12 to 14 April 2026, introduces a fresh dimension to Silom’s celebrations with a space-themed festival inspired by CPF’s “Thai Chicken Mission to Space” programme. The event features a range of live performances and interactive activities. Highlights include an appearance by Mix Chaloemsri on 12 April from 15.30–16.00 hrs. and a performance by T-pop group iZ on 13 April from 15.00–16.00 hrs., expected to bring together more than 3,000 participants along nearly two kilometres of Silom Road.

Beyond the celebration itself, the event also brings food innovation into the heart of the festival. This year’s theme highlights CPF’s “Thai Chicken Mission to Space”, featuring “Basil Chicken Breast” crafted to NASA’s rigorous food safety standards. For travellers seeking the full Silom experience, it offers a high-tech, high-flavour pitstop amid the festival’s famous water splashes.

This initiative underscores how Songkran continues to evolve as one of Thailand’s most important cultural celebrations, where heritage and creativity can coexist in meaningful ways. By bringing together interactive experiences, contemporary creativity and the traditions of Thai New Year, the event offers a distinctive platform for both local and international visitors to engage with Thai culture in a fresh and memorable way. As Songkran continues to attract growing interest from around the world, experiences such as this help reinforce Thailand’s appeal as a destination where tradition remains vibrant, relevant and globally resonant — creating the kind of Songkran memory that lingers long after the streets have dried.

During the forum, participating industry professionals engaged in knowledge exchange, networking, and business development. Participants also engaged directly with local plantations, processing facilities, and tasting experiences, brewing substantial opportunities to drive growth across Chiang Rai’s tea and coffee sectors.

Building on the momentum of two international Tea and Coffee symposia in 2023 and 2024, the forum was supported by strong multi-institutional collaboration among the Tea and Coffee Institute of Mae Fah Luang University, Singha Park Chiang Rai Co., Ltd., and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

According to Mr. Puripan Bunnag, Acting President of TCEB, Chiang Rai has proven its capacity as a secondary city capable of hosting major business events. He stated, “MICE is serving as a powerful driver for the local economy. The success of the ‘Global Coffee and Tea Association Forum 2025’ not only reinforced the city’s ambition to become a destination for quality tea and coffee on domestic and regional levels but also supported Chiang Rai’s goal of emerging as a center for national and international tea and coffee festival events.”

Convention Highlights Global Industry Dialogue

The forum commenced with a convention at Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort, bringing together experts and entrepreneurs from China, Japan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Denmark, Australia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Key topics explored a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from prevalent challenges and product innovation to sustainability, carbon footprint, blending and flavoring, and wellness-oriented consumption. Sessions were complemented by showcases of product development, processing research, and production solutions.

Exhibition Showcases Regional Excellence and Innovation

Following the convention, “Chiang Rai Brewtopia Green Season” exhibition at Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park, held from July 18 to 20, was inaugurated by Mr. Rutisak Rangsri, Vice Governor of Chiang Rai; Mr. Puripan Bunnag, Acting President of TCEB; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyaporn Chueamchaitrakun, Head of the Tea and Coffee Institute at Mae Fah Luang University. The exhibition featured around 40 coffee and tea entrepreneurs providing overseas delegates with direct access to uniquely blended teas and coffees crafted by ethnic hill tribes, emerging local talents, and artisanal creators. Complemented by workshops, business talks, and product showcases, the event highlighted Chiang Rai’s growing influence and innovation within the industry.

Site Visits Underscore Chiang Rai’s Production Strengths

To highlight the region’s agricultural strengths, the forum featured “A Cup to Village” site visits to renowned tea and coffee plantations. Choui Fong Tea in Mae Chan demonstrated organic hill-terrace cultivation, production process and tastings of its award-winning Oolong tea. Wang Put Tan Tea in Doi Mae Salong showcased community transformation through high-quality Oolong and Black Tea, with the latter winning the Grand Gold Prize at the 2021 World Green Tea Contest. The site provided insights into tea production and tasting experiences. Doi Chang Coffee in Mae Suai illustrated the success of the Arabica crop introduced under the 1969 Royal Project to replace slash-and-burn farming. Now a recognized brand with a unique aroma, forest coexistence, academic support, exports to 10+ countries, and GI certification from the European Union. The visit ended with a cupping session by the Queen of Coffee.

The successful hosting of the Global Coffee and Tea Association Forum 2025 marked another significant chapter of Chiang Rai in MICE’s development. The city made its first-ever entry into ICCA’s global city rankings in 2024 after hosting two ICCA-qualified conferences. It also hosted the Spring Meeting of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) in February 2025 and will be welcoming the PATA Destination Marketing Forum this coming November.

“As part of TCEB’s strategy to diversify Thailand’s event destinations, we are actively promoting cities with unique strengths to boost their competitiveness on the global MICE stage. Chiang Rai, with its rich tea and coffee heritage, exemplifies how we attract international events and strengthen the city’s position on the global MICE map,” added Mr. Puripan.

The Cartier Women’s Initiative (CWI) is a global programme reflecting Cartier’s long-standing commitment to empowering female entrepreneurs who are driving social change through business solutions. In Thailand, this has been further developed into the CWI Entrepreneurial Programme, aimed at equipping social entrepreneurs with essential skills and knowledge. The programme covers fundamental business practices, leadership skills, business tools and techniques that enable participants to scale their ventures internationally and potentially join the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards in the future. The ultimate goal is to help Thai entrepreneurs create a positive global impact through purpose-driven businesses. 

Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, remarked that the 26 graduates of the programme are not only entrepreneurs but also changemakers. Over the six-week period, they stepped away from their business leadership roles to immerse themselves in this intensive course. The knowledge and experience they gained will prepare them to lead their ventures and discover innovative solutions to drive global change. This collaboration between Chulalongkorn University and Cartier reinforces a shared vision to support enterprises that go beyond profit and strive for social impact. He also invited interested parties to apply for the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards 2026, which will take place in 2026. 

Ms. Pornpreya Vivadhnajat, Managing Director of Cartier Thailand, stated that the CWI Entrepreneurial Programme was designed to empower and build the capabilities of entrepreneurs committed to running sustainable businesses with meaningful purposes. She expressed admiration and inspiration from witnessing the growth of the programme participants, who demonstrated creativity, collaboration and the collective positive energy fostered within the community. 

Ms. Yanina Novitskaya, CEO of Cartier Southeast Asia and Oceania, shared her appreciation for the dedication and determination shown by all participants in the CWI Entrepreneurial Programme. She noted that Thailand is among the leading countries in terms of female leadership, with many women in executive roles—highlighting the strong potential of Thai women. As the Cartier Women’s Initiative approaches its 20th year, Thailand will host the awards ceremony in 2026. She encouraged programme participants and other female social entrepreneurs to apply for this global initiative, which supports business and entrepreneurial growth within a vibrant community of social impact leaders. 

The Cartier Women’s Initiative (CWI) Entrepreneurial Programme is a six-week intensive course co-developed and managed by Cartier and Chulalongkorn University.
